Atomic to introduce Venom mask
Third mask to join Atomic range boasts clearest glass yet
An all-new mask from Atomic Aquatics called Venom arrives this summer.
Website scubagearreports.com has got its hands on a pre-production version of the mask.
Based in California, Atomic Aquatics makes a range of premium diving equipment including regulators, fins and even a computer.
The current mask range is a choice of three – the SubFrame, SubFrame ARC (with upgraded glass) and the Frameless mask.
SGR describes the Venom as a sort of cross between the two designs, with a single-window faceplate like the Frameless and the high bridge of the SubFrame.
Visual differences aside however, the main selling point will be the Venom’s underwater clarity. Atomic has fitted the mask with an even higher quality glass called Schott Superwite, sourced in Germany.
Apparently this enables more light to penetrate through, even at greater depths.
Atomic Aquatics dive gear doesn’t come cheap, and the Venom looks set to be no exception. Costing $199 when it launches in the USA this summer, expect to pay an equivalent price over here.
