Four seals taken from the sanctuary for the last time
British Divers Marine Life Rescue has successfully returned the last winter batch of Grey Seals to the wild.
The so-called Highland Seal Hospital is a special unit of the marine wildlife charity, based in Scotland.
It deals predominantly with young or infirm seals, who may have become ill or separated from their kin.
Winter is an especially busy time, due to the harsher sea conditions. On Tuesday 19th April BDMLR finally released the last of the winter arrivals from the hospital.
Four Grey Seals were given the once over, weighed in the morning once the pool was drained, then loaded into their transport boxes for the short journey to the release site.
A welcome crowd of volunteers came in handy for the lifting and carrying of each 40-plus kilo seal.
Once at the release site the seals could hardly wait, and all hit the water pretty quickly.
They spent the next half hour or so exploring the harbour and looking for each other.
