Commando Escape debut for Big Scuba Show
Lightweight version of enduring Buddy range set to premiere
A.P. Valves is showing off the new Commando Escape sub three zero at The Big Scuba Show.
The new Buddy BCD is so-called as it weighs less than 3kg, ideal as a lightweight travel jacket.
The Big Scuba Show is the first of two large dive exhibitions happening this season, hosted at Olympia in London from February 19-20th 2011.
Built in response to customer demand for a high quality travel jacket, the Escape utilises a single bladder construction.
The jacket is made using a unique material called OceanSeal 800, specially commissioned by A.P Valves for the best possible balance between quality and weight.
OceanSeal 800 is tough, thanks to high-frequency welds and double-stitching at the seams.
The Commando Escape is available in 5 sizes: S, M, L, XL & XXL, yet weighs in under 3kg in 4 of the 5 sizes.
Features-wise, it packs two huge side pockets with handy internal 35mm D rings and mesh gussets for rapid drainage.
There are two further zippered side pockets. There are dumps on the kidney and shoulder and a third shoulder exhaust/over-pressure valve built into the inflator.
Unusually for a travel BCD, the Commando Escape has a blow-moulded rigid backplate with a carry handle.
The Buddy Commando Escape sub three zero is on sale at some retailers now, priced around £320.
