PADI plays golf for charity

PADI will swap training courses for the golf course and play 18 holes for charity next month.

The annual PADI Golf Day supports marine conservation charity Project AWARE, a diver-driven outfit devoted to clean oceans.

Representatives from the diver training agency will hook up with other industry figures, travel operators, friends and wider associates in a friendly bit of sporting competition.

The Golf Day has taken place every summer for the last ten years. It’s the brainchild of PADI EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa.)

For 2012 the course chosen is at Shendish Manor in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

Players are fed and watered throughout the day, ahead of an evening shindig featuring meal, raffle and charity auction.

The auction winner will jet off to El Gouna with Longwood Holidays for 3 days of diving, and 3 days of golf in the Egyptian sun.

All proceeds from PADI Golf Day on Monday July 30^th will go to Project AWARE and its work on Marine Debris and Sharks in Peril.
