Kevin Gurr on life, CCRs and everything
Technical diving pioneer to give talk at Guildford BSAC
Technical diver, designer and company chief Kevin Gurr is to give a talk about his career and rebreather diving.
Guildford BSAC club in Surrey have invited Kevin to make a presentation on Tuesday February 28th 2012.
one of the first technical divers
Mr Gurr was one of the first technical divers and instrumental in launching IANTD on this side of the pond. Today, he is co-owner at VR Technology, the British company behind the much-admired Sentinel CCR. He’s also credited with designing the Ouroboros CCR and VR3 computer.
With interest in rebreather technology at an all time high, Kevin will be dispelling a few popular myths about these amazing machines and their operation.
And as an accomplished diver himself, Mr Gurr will also be sharing the story of his career and globetrotting adventures. He can list the Titanic (via submersible of course) and Britannic amongst his many wreck dives.
The event will take place at the club’s usual meeting place, the Waterside Centre in the town, on 28th February.
Although hosted by Guildford BSAC club, all are welcome to come along. For more information, give the club D.O. a ring on 07787 141857 or visit www.guildford-bsac.com.
