Sherwood has big UK plans
Typhoon to distribute big US brand in UK and Ireland
US dive brand Sherwood is poised to enter the UK market in 2012.
To that end, the company has appointed Typhoon International to handle distribution in the UK and Ireland.
Little-known here, Sherwood is the 4th largest diving marque in the USA, with a 30-year reputation for making decent, keenly priced equipment. Crucially, its range of regulators and BCDs has recently been CE approved for sale in Europe.

The Sherwood range encompasses everything from gauges and regulators to masks, fins and snorkels. Under the ‘Akona’ moniker Sherwood also comes armed with a kit bag and wetsuit line.
Peter Bibby of Typhoon International said: “We are delighted to be appointed Sherwood distributor and are putting plans in place to re-launch the brand and their redesigned product ranges.
“Whilst distributing Atomic we have never been able to compete with the Sherwood SR1 regulator, which had similar performance without the price tag, so we asked Sherwood if we could be their distributor! If you can’t beat them, join them!”
