Oceans S1 computer talks wirelessly with your buddy
Ultrasonic connection keeps you in touch
A new dive computer has gone on sale which offers wireless through-water communication between buddies.
The Oceans S1 Supersonic is billed as ‘a dive system for the 21st century scuba diver’.
summon your buddy at the touch of a button
At the touch of a button, the S1 allows you to summon your buddy, dive master or instructor and sends a ping message to each paired dive computer.
When a ping is received a notification is shown on the S1’s display, with the name of the diver looking for attention.
The S1 also boasts some other clever features, including a vibrate notification, LED colour screen and wireless connectivity.
Swedish company Oceans launched in 2014 as a provider of dive-related software, with a large online lifestyle community.
The S1 computer was developed from a successful crowdfunding campaign, and is Oceans’ first step into producing hardware for divers.
It is currently available direct from the Oceans online store priced €499, and ships worldwide.
