Club divers of Ireland come together

The schedule for the Irish Dive Rally season has been announced, which is made up this year of five get-togethers over the summer.

Each Rally is a great opportunity for dive clubs and groups of friends to get together and explore somewhere new, meet other club members and have a bit of a party to boot. Divers and snorkelers are welcome.

get together and explore somewhere new

Organised by the Irish Underwater Council (IUC/CFT), first up is the South West Dive Rally, taking place this coming weekend (19-21st May) in Cahersiveen, Co Kerry.

Inbher Sceine/Kerry Sub Aqua Club are playing host. Boats and meeting point will be at the Cahersiveen marina, with a registration fee of 10 euro charged to each diver to cover the weekend expenses for boats and facilities – showers, toilets etc.

Each diver will be asked to contribute to fuel costs of the boat they dive from.

There will be compressors on site charging 5 euros for two fills. All divers must register and show their log book and active diver certs.

The second event of the season will be the new North Dive Rally, which will take place 16-18th June in Killybegs, Co Donegal. Donegal Bay SAC are hosting, so check out www.nwdiverally.ie or find them on Facebook for more details.
