New dive computer software from Mares can automatically send gas profile information to the Divers Alert Network.

The Dive Organizer program is 100% compatible with the DAN DL7 database, used by DAN for their research on decompression sickness.

Every diver can create what’s known as a ‘DAN EVENT’. Here the diver will need to fill some important data about the dives he wants to share with DAN.

Three required pieces of information required are about the dive site itself, personal information about the diver, and information about the group of dives that belong to this ‘DAN Event’.

Once the diver enters all the information, one click sends the file directly to DAN to be implemented in the database used for statistics and research.

This direct cooperation between the diving industry and researchers has the goal of improving divers’ safety.

This allows the DAN research field to enlarge its sample to all divers using Mares computers supporting the Dive Organizer.

Mares has been implementing Dive Organizer DL7 connectivity for the Icon HD, Nemo Wide, Nemo Air and Puck series of computers.
